Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms govern your use of the BetterPose desktop application and the website at betterpose.co, operated by Aleks Bezjak from Slovenia (EU). By purchasing, downloading, or using BetterPose, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. What BetterPose does

BetterPose is a macOS and Windows application that uses your webcam and an on-device AI model to estimate your sitting posture in real time and gently nudge you when it slips. All posture analysis runs locally on your device; no webcam images or video are transmitted to or processed on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Licences

3.1 Personal licence

When you purchase a personal licence, we provide a licence/activation code that lets you use BetterPose [on one (1) device / on your personal devices], in line with the plan you bought.

3.2 Team licences

Organisations may purchase multiple seats. The administrator may assign and reassign seats up to the number purchased. Seats are for the organisation’s own people and may not be used beyond the purchased count.

3.3 What’s included and updates

BetterPose is offered as a subscription: your licence is active while your subscription is paid, and includes software updates and support for that period.

3.4 Free trial

BetterPose includes a free trial (currently [48 hours]) that you can start without creating an account or providing payment details. When the trial ends, continued use requires a paid licence.

3.5 Activation

Licence codes may be bound to a device on first activation to enforce seat limits. To move a licence to another device, contact aleks@betterpose.co.

3.6 Restrictions

You may not: resell, sublicense, or share licence codes beyond your entitlement; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app; or use it for any unlawful purpose.

4. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown at betterpose.co and may change. Changes do not affect a licence already purchased for the period already paid. Purchases are sold and processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC) acting as our Merchant of Record: your purchase contract for the transaction is with Lemon Squeezy as reseller, and Lemon Squeezy collects payment and handles any applicable VAT/sales tax. Your right to use the BetterPose software is licensed to you by us under these Terms.

5. Refunds and right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. Because BetterPose is delivered digitally, you may lose this right once download/use begins if you expressly consent to that at checkout.

Because purchases are made through Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy in line with its refund policy. In any case, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee: if BetterPose isn’t for you, contact aleks@betterpose.co within 14 days of purchase and we’ll arrange the refund with Lemon Squeezy.

6. Privacy

Privacy is central to how BetterPose works. Webcam data is processed only on your device and is never captured, stored, or transmitted. See the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and requirements

BetterPose currently runs on macOS [13 Ventura or later] and Windows [10 or later, 64-bit]. A working webcam is required for posture monitoring. We do not guarantee compatibility with every hardware or OS configuration.

8. Health disclaimer

BetterPose is a wellbeing aid, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition and is not a substitute for professional medical or ergonomic advice. Use your own judgement; if you experience pain or have a medical concern, consult a qualified professional.

9. Warranty and liability

BetterPose is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, BetterPose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer-protection rights and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Slovenia — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and will post changes here with a new date. Material changes will not apply retroactively to a purchase you have already made.
